Opportunities arising, created, and recovered or lost. Some opportunities identified, in some volunteered or were simply on their way. Opportunities one, most, or all of the many. Opportunities that led to experiences, changes, discoveries, progress or ... new opportunities!
Opportunities are everywhere and have always existed. In life, history, science, arts. Even in difficult, the crisis in the absence of failure. Even when you lose an opportunity, if another being born.

Opportunities (plural): The theme of TEDxPatras 2016!
Opportunities that were born, created, leveraged or were wasted. Opportunities that someone witnessed, was offered or just discovered along the way. Opportunities for individuals, for many, or for everyone. Opportunities that led to experiences, changes, discoveries, progress or to ... new opportunities!
Opportunities do exist and always did. In life, in history, in science, in art. Even in times of hardship, in a crisis, in absence, in failure. Even when you lose an opportunity, another one is probably born. Are "Opportunities" inextricably interwoven with each and every fold of human life, evolution and activity?

TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out in 1984 as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then TED expanded to a program consisting of a series of different types of events of international interest attracting speakers, viewers and ideas from different disciplines. TED now consists of a network of events, in global and local level. Among the TED events are the two annual conferences (TED Conference and TED Global), the TED Talks video site, the annual TED Prize and the local TED events. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events self-organized are (subject to certain rules and regulations). Selected talks from these events are also turned into TED Talks videos.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations).

TEDxPatras is the first local, self-organized standard TEDx event organized in Western Greece. It aims to highlight and promote the idea of TED to the regions' audience, by transmitting, through the speakers, inspiration and motivation for exploring alternative and innovative ideologies.
